Our focus must be those children who call the Husky Energy Centre for Autism home. We hope their needs will continue to gain the attention of corporate partners and community members. Children with autism have trouble with communicating, learning and social skills - the basics. Often, our world just doesn't make sense to them. In short, autism can be devastating to children, and their families. Just as the children need a home, their parents need the support and peace of mind that comes from knowing their child is receiving the care, help and treatment they require at all times.
To ensure that this facility remains in long-term operation, Society for Treatment of Autism must make substantial investment in the renovations of the building now. Such renovations would allow Society for Treatment of Autism to maintain the facility in an efficient and cost effective manner.
Society for Treatment of Autism is renovating the centre, an existing facility to continue the treatment services, care and programs to children with autism. The building's 65 years, dictate the need to upgrade and renovate the facility, in an effort for Society for Treatment of Autism and its staff to continue delivery of very cost effective standard of care and service now and in the future.
This treatment facility has been a leader in treatment services for autism for thirty years. About 1 in 300 children have autism and that number is growing. So is the demand for treatment and residential services.
The completion of renovations to the Husky Energy Centre for Autism allows for the continued operation of this most needed facility within the community. It ensures that Society for Treatment of Autism remains a leader in the delivery of autism treatment services throughout North America.
